This station was installed in the framework of the FWF DACH project I 900 in April 2012 beside the glacier Shallap in the Cordelliera Blanca in Peru at an altitude of 4767 m a.s.l. to investigate the contribution of glacier melt to total runoff in the region. The station operated until February 2017 and was visited several times by the team around project leader Georg Kaser and Wolfgang Gurgiser. The station is currently operated by the Unidad de GlaciologĂa y Recursos HĂdricos UGRH

Station History
- 04/2012: station installed
- 05/2013: new temperature and humidity sensor
Data Quality notes
- Air temperature and humidity:
- 05/2012 - 05/2013: erroneous data
- SWin:
- very high values are missing until 08/2012 when the settings were changed.
- Precipitation data:
- in general good agreement with totalizers close to the gauge during the wet season, problems when wind speed is high (> 7 m/s): strongly overestimated precipitation!
- After May 2018:
- Data only available from 0:30 - 9:00!
Datasets
- RAW
- Uncorrected raw data as it is transfered from the logger, no quality checks employed.
